Base Camp

WHAT IS BASE CAMP?

Base Camp is our home base for Adventure Trips. It is tucked away in its own separate nook of Camp Burgess. Every group starts and ends their Adventure Trip at Base Camp. Some groups spend all but their first and last nights staying off-site, while other groups sleep every night at Base Camp.

At Base Camp, campers sleep in large platform tents with cots and bunk beds. Tents are single-gender, with separate areas for male and female tents. We have a large pavilion, where groups do most of their cooking, eating, and hanging out. We also have a yurt with couches, games, musical instruments, etc. Groups use this space to meet and to relax. Base Camp is filled with outdoor games, including Corn Hole and Ladder Ball, many hammocks, and a campfire ring for evening s’mores and our closing campfires on Thursday nights.
