Fresh from the Farm

IMG_4963This picture might not look like much, but we’re super duper excited about it… It shows one of our rhubarb plants sending out the first growth of the spring!! Agriculturally speaking, we’re between 2 and 4 weeks behind schedule at the farm. Usually the soil is open and dry enough to plant peas outdoors on St. Patrick’s Day, but at this rate we’ll be lucky to have them in by the time our first outdoor education group is here next week. The rhubarb is undeterred by the cold weather, though — and we’re sure glad to see some signs of life (however small they may be) in the garden!
