I’m very sorry to write that our beloved farm cat Vivi got eaten by a coyote a few weeks back. Upon her arrival at Burgess Farm, she rebounded from a tough start in life, ultimately becoming a mascot and friend in addition to truly stellar all-natural rodent control. Unfortunately, the life of an outdoor cat is a daily gamble when such a robust wild ecosystem is thrown into the mix.

With her untimely demise, the rodent population around the farm started to grow, so I knew it was time to find another cat. I asked another farmer at the Sandwich farmers’ market and luckily enough, he had a cat to spare! So I’m officially presenting our new farm cat, Roxie. She’s got big paws to fill, but so far she seems like she’ll be up to the task!
