Congratulations and Thank You – Burgess and Hayward Road Crew!!!!!

We want to take this opportunity to recognize the hard work and enthusiasm put forth by all participants of this season’s “Road Crew” – the weekend community service group run through Burgess and Hayward.

On November 22nd, over 20 campers, staff and parents came together to prepare a delicious meal for a local homeless shelter. We cooked together in the Burgess dining hall and personally delivered the food to the shelter. We were greeted with huge smiles and a brief but impactful history of homelessness on Cape Cod.

On December 14th, we had over 25 participants. We spent the morning inside a huge gymnasium at the Bourne Veterans Memorial Building, where we unloaded more than 4000 toys off a truck. We also helped organize the toys into specific areas for easy access. Two days later the building was opened for many of the less fortunate residents of Bourne to choose toys for the holidays.

We had so much fun at both events. It was truly inspiring to see our campers helping out in the community. We can’t wait for the next one. We’ll be announcing winter and spring opportunities soon.

Thank You.
