As we’re settling into another snowy New England winter, its hard to believe the holidays have come and gone, and we’re now almost a month into 2014!
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am a big fan of camp traditions. There is nothing I love more than busting out old school camp songs and remembering what camp was like when I first started my summers on Pinkham Road. They will also tell you I keep everything. It should then come as no surprise then that I am swimming in camp candles. I have found candles from closing campfire in almost every room of my house, both the classic white candles and the more recent festive green candles. While most normal people don’t keep candles they got at camp over 10 years ago, I’ve kept them because they are special to me.
The winter can make it seem like camp is so far away, so I like being reminded when I light my candle on New Years Eve that camp is closer than we think! Its hard to believe that camp exists after August, but even now preparations for Summer 2014 are underway and staff are already hired and getting excited for the best summer ever.
So while it looks like we’re going to be buried under feet of snow, I’m making room for more camp candles and starting my countdown to 02563.
PS. 151 days ’til campers arrive na naaaa
