Base Camp Service Week

Base Camp Service Week is a great way to start off the summer! This 6-day service learning program concentrates on preparing Base Camp for the season.  You will have the opportunity to shape the look and feel of Base Camp for the rest of the summer and beyond!  Projects may include painting picnic tables, making signs, working in the vegetable garden, taking on small construction projects, and managing trails in the areas surrounding Base Camp.  Trip leaders will also seek your input about projects you are interested in and what you think would enhance Base Camp! Participants will have the opportunity to learn a range of skills and use different tools.

You will spend about half your time doing projects, and half your time doing other fun activities! Our schedule is flexible based on the preferences of the group, but may include exploring Provincetown, biking on the Shining Sea Trail, and paddling on the many waterways around Cape Cod.  When the group needs a break from our projects, other fun activities include climbing the rock wall, swimming, jumping on the water trampoline, and meeting the farm animals.

Campers will complete 20 hours of community service throughout the week, and we will provide service hour documentation for all participants.

PREREQUISITES:  None! This trip is a great choice for new and returning campers alike, who have positive attitudes and are ready to make a difference! This trip is open to campers ages 12-16.
