It’s the first Tuesday in May, which means were a little over a month and a half away from the start of Summer Camp and Adventure Trips. While some trips are currently full to capacity we still have a number of exciting opportunities available for teens ages 12 to 17 years old!
Adventure Trips are a great alternative to our traditional summer camp programs at Burgess and Hayward. Our one week trips offer a great variety of summer excursions and Adventurous participants can link several weeks together with our Mini- Adventure Weekends.
For the adventurous explorers out there… Step back in time and learn the ropes just like the old sea captains of Cape Cod on our Cape Breeze trip. This adventure will send our intrepid explores out on the water to learn the basics of sailing before progressing to windsurfing, kayaking, and a final day on a chartered sail boat! This trip is offered during three weeks of the summer so register soon.
Another fantastic opportunity is our Castaways trip, which sends the adventurous teens out to Pinkham Island in the middle of Triangle Pond to survive under the supervision of two well-trained trip leaders. Throughout the week, a variety of surprises and challenges will wash ashore and our teens will have to figure out how to build fire and construct a raft to ‘escape’ by the end of the week. They will learn to cook their meals on an open fire using cast iron dutch ovens, set up shelter, learn how to tie proper knots and a variety of other survival skills!
Check back next week and we will share more about our bike trips on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, Underwater Adventures, and The Big Chill!
