This week we have welcomed campers both old and new to Camp Burgess for April Vacation Camp! On Monday we started out with some fun games and team-building initiatives before our opening campfire filled with songs, jokes, and skits.
After a restful sleep we greeted Tuesday with a fun morning of art projects and adventures on the high ropes course. After a yummy lunch with soup and grilled cheese to warm up from the cold, the group headed to meet Jenny and TJ at the farm!
Many campers decided to help out at the farm with garden projects lead by Jenny, while many others decided to learn carpentry skills with TJ while building new tables for the greenhouse. These greenhouse tables will be used this year to start seedlings for the farm during the colder months of the spring, until they are ready to be planted in the ground! Later on these plants will yield produce for campers to enjoy during the summer months so the projects today will be benefiting campers and visitors for years to come.
There are more fun activities in store for the rest of the week, and maybe a few surprises as well!
